Wrapped chocolates and sweets are the classic, but the drawers also hold handwritten notes, earrings and small jewellery, hair clips, LEGO minifigures, folded gift cards, tea bags and cinema tickets. Many families do one small gift plus a note each night.
How big are the drawers?
Each of the 24 drawers on this wooden advent calendar fits two or three wrapped chocolates, a folded note, a pair of earrings, a small figure or a rolled-up gift card. It is not deep enough for a full-size chocolate bar or a boxed toy.
Can I reuse it every year?
Yes. Unlike a cardboard calendar, this wooden advent calendar is built to be refilled and reused every December. The drawers slide in and out as many times as you like, and the wood and paint are made to be handled. Store it flat in its box after the holidays and dust it with a dry cloth.
Does it need batteries?
The With LED version runs on 2 × AA batteries, which are not included. The battery box is recessed into the back panel with an on/off switch, so there is no cord and nothing to plug in. The No LED version has no lighting and needs no batteries at all.
